ATC Summer Camps

Challenge Island is a high-energy, high-interest, hands-on program on the cutting edge of STEAM education, project-based learning, and 21st-century skills. This minicamp for ages 5-11 is a welcome reprieve from the increasingly digitalized childhood experience, where campers tackle various STEAM challenges using everyday materials and their boundless imaginations. It offers the foundation upon which to build the skills required to thrive in a competitive global society: collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, grit, perseverance, and leadership.

The tribe is at the heart of every Challenge Island experience. It functions like a family sharing ideas, hopes, and mutual goals, with members learning to negotiate, compromise, and count on one another. They build bonds, friendships, tolerance, and acceptance as they pool their combined strengths and resources to create a richer product than could be achieved individually. The party-like atmosphere is felt throughout the morning and crescendos at the end when each tribe proudly presents their creation at the closing tribal council.
